Is this an effective way to lose 10 pounds?

I’m 5′ 1" and weigh between 119-123 (i weigh myself different times of the day so i’m not sure). i know i’m not stout, but my weight seems high to me. i wanna lose 10 pounds by the time school starts again & i reckon i’m losing some slowly, but i want to speed it up.
everyday i eat probably between 1200-1500 calories
i DO eat junk food and sometimes splurge with it & i need tips on how to stop b/c i know cutting out junk food will make a difference
i exercise about 2-3 times a week either 30 minutes on the eliptical or 2 miles on my bike.
i also (everyday) do 50 crunches, 20 pushups, 50 squat-type exercises, 20 leg lifts on each leg, and 30 reps of weight lifting (5 pound weights) on my arms
i’m trying to build more muscle in my arms & define my abs
so, if i do that the scale won’t show my weight change b/c of the fact that muscle weighs more than stout
i just want to see stout go away on my thighs & abdominals
tips?
thanks

    One note:
When working with weights work a muscle group every other day, not every day. Muscles need the day off to build.

Also, track your measurements not your weight, as you build muscle you may really gain weight but you will be trimmer. Weigh yourself once per week, try to do it about the same time and wearing the same thing.

As for cutting out junk food. Don’t tell yourself you can’t have any…just limit what you eat. I like chocolate, instead of telling myself I can’t have chocolate I buy kisses and other small chocolates and allow myself to delight in one or 2 of those. It takes like 5 kisses to equal 100 calories so that is the most I will have in one day. Also look for 100 calorie packs of snack foods, those really help with part control.
