I forgot to say that the kcal requirement depends on how tall you are, your weight, and your activity level. For an adult, the average kcal is around 2000-2500 kcal which is why the food marks use 2000 kcal.

  2. einnanil1 says:

Not at all. If you cut out 500 kcals a day and you multiply that by 7 days, that would cause you to lose 1 lb a week. BUT, this level of kcal is EXTREMELY perilous. Your body needs a certain amount of kcals in order to function. If you don’t have that amount of kcals, you will be starving your body and killing yourself slowly. Please converse with a dietitian if you plot to “diet”.
Also, exercise can help get rid of kcals so restriction isn’t the only way to lose weight. Hope this helps!

Help me out here—if I regularly ate 1000cals a day, I could cut them down to 500, and loose 2lbs in a week?

Right now your BMI is currently 19.7. That’s within healthy BMI range (18.5-24.9). I would say that you would not need to lose weight. If you are a female, your body is basically going to have abdominal stout (biological reason to sustain pregnancy). That’s why you nearly never see females going around with six packs unless they exercise very very hard.
If you would still like to lose weight, I would discuss this with a registered dietitian. They really know their stuff!
    Hope that helps?

ok now im 168cm hight and my weight is 55,5 kg i got some belly stout so lets say im going to do what you are saying how much would i then loose ca.?

It’s not an exact science but 3500 Calories is in one pound. So if you don’t eat 3500 kcals, you will lose one pound. It is extremely perilous to do it all at once. It is best if you do it gradually. So if you cut out 500 kcals in a day for 7 days a week (3500 kcals), you would lose a lb a week.

1-2 lbs a week. It is a safe amount of weight to lose as well as simpler to maintain. Please consult with a Registered Dietitian to see if the diet you are thinking about embarking on is safe.
