Low carb diet really that healthy? trying to lose 10 pounds here!?

i know it helps lose weight, but being allowed to eat a lot of fatty foods? is that excellent for your heart? doesn’t our nervous system run on carbs? i mean i know many cheeses have a lot of stout in them, and not allowed to eat fruit? i only need to lose 10 pounds, but i don’t reckon this diet is for me, i like my orange juice and whenever i do have a sandwish (maybe once or twice a week) i use whole grain bread which i know is healthy? any tips? advice? i don’t know everything about this low carb stuff, just trying to get the facts here, thanks!
i don’t have heart issues, but i’m worried about my heart for the future, i’m nearly 25 and want to take care of myself, since heart disease does run on my fathers side
